Locating Fish and Aquatic Mobs for Farming

Observing Mob Behavior

The Clean Water Resource Pack lets you watch fish, squids, and other aquatic mobs swim without entering the water yourself. This is useful for understanding spawn patterns and planning mob farms.

Scouting for Aquatic Mobs

1. Watch from shore or boat — Position yourself above the water and observe movement patterns

2. Identify mob density — Areas with more visible mobs are better farm locations

3. Note depth preferences — Different mobs congregate at different depths; the clear view shows this clearly

4. Plan farm placement — Use your observations to decide where to build collection systems

You can also spot squids more easily in deeper water and watch how they react to light sources. This helps you design mob farms that work with natural behavior rather than against it. The visibility also makes it easier to spot rare variants or mobs you're specifically hunting for.
