Using Clean Swing Through Grass to Fight Mobs in Jungles and Savannas
The Problem With Grassy Biomes
Jungles, savannas, and plains are packed with tall grass, ferns, and other plants. In vanilla, these plants constantly eat your hits during combat. A zombie or skeleton standing in a patch of tall grass can be surprisingly hard to finish off because your sword keeps cutting plants instead of the mob. This is dangerous when multiple hostile mobs surround you.
Combat Tips
1. When a mob is standing in tall grass, keep your crosshair on the mob's torso or head rather than sweeping wildly. The mod lets the swing pass through the plant, but precise aim still lands hits faster.
2. Do not bother clearing the grass first. With the mod installed, you can fight directly through it, saving time and preserving the terrain.
3. If several mobs are clustered in grass, focus on one target at a time. The mod does not make your attacks hit multiple entities; it only prevents plants from blocking a single-target swing.
4. Back up while swinging if you are being swarmed. The mod helps you land hits, but it does not change mob damage or your own health.
Why This Matters for Exploration
Keeping grass intact is not just cosmetic. In jungles, tall grass and ferns are part of the landscape, and destroying them constantly leaves ugly bare patches. With the mod, you can fight through vegetation and leave the biome looking natural. This is especially handy when building paths or bases in grassy areas, since you will not accidentally shred the plants around your structures during combat.
