How to Hit Players and Animals Hiding in Grass During PvP or Hunting

Hitting Players Who Hide in Grass

Tall grass is a common hiding spot in PvP. A player crouching in a patch of grass can be nearly invisible, and in vanilla your first swing often just destroys the grass and warns them. With the Clean Swing Through Grass Mod, you can strike through the plant and land a hit on the hidden player without revealing your attack by breaking the grass first.

1. Watch for movement or a name tag in the grass.

2. Aim at the center of the suspicious patch where the player's body would be.

3. Swing. The hit should register on the player while the grass stays in place.

4. Follow up immediately, since the first hit may cause them to flee.

Hunting Animals in Tall Grass

Animals such as chickens, rabbits, and cows often wander into tall grass. In vanilla, chasing them means constantly breaking plants. With the mod:

1. Approach the animal until you are within melee range.

2. Aim at the animal's body, even if grass partially covers it.

3. Swing to deal damage without destroying the grass around it.

4. Repeat until the animal is defeated, then collect drops as normal.

Practical Notes

  • The mod does not make you invisible or silent, so players can still hear or see you approaching.
  • It does not change drop rates or loot. You get the same drops you would from a normal kill.
  • If you are hunting for food or resources, this makes grassy areas much less tedious to clear, since you no longer leave a trail of broken plants behind you.
