How to Attack Mobs Hidden in Tall Grass Without Breaking the Grass
Why Your Swings Stop at the Grass
In vanilla Minecraft, tall grass and similar plants have a hitbox that intercepts your attack. When you swing at a mob standing behind or inside tall grass, the game registers the hit on the plant first, which destroys it and often leaves the mob untouched. The Clean Swing Through Grass Mod changes this behavior so your attack passes through the plant and connects with the mob behind it.
Steps to Land the Hit
1. Find a mob, animal, or player standing in or directly behind tall grass.
2. Aim your crosshair at the target's body, not at the grass itself. The mod lets the swing pass through the plant, but you still need to be pointing at the entity.
3. Swing as normal. The attack should connect with the mob.
4. Check the grass block. It should remain intact after your swing.
Things to Keep in Mind
- The mod does not extend your reach. You still need to be within normal melee range of the target.
- If the mob is fully obscured and you cannot see any part of it, aim slightly above the grass line where the mob's body would be.
- This works for hostile mobs, passive animals, and other players, so it is useful both for defending yourself and for hunting animals in grassy biomes.
- If a swing still breaks grass, make sure you are actually aiming at the entity and not at empty space beside it.
