Fixing Common Issues When Swings Still Break Grass

When the Mod Does Not Seem to Work

If your attacks are still destroying tall grass instead of passing through it, the cause is usually aim or configuration rather than the mod itself. Work through these checks before assuming something is broken.

1. Confirm you are aiming at the entity. The mod lets swings pass through plants to reach a target, but if your crosshair is on empty grass with no mob behind it, the swing will still hit the plant.

2. Check whether the plant is actually tall grass or a different block. Some plants, such as large ferns or modded foliage, may behave differently. Try the same swing on standard tall grass to compare.

3. Verify the mod is loaded for your current world. If you added it to an existing world, reload the game and test again.

4. Look for conflicting mods. Combat or hitbox-changing mods can override swing behavior. Temporarily disabling other combat mods can help you isolate the issue.

Getting Consistent Results

  • Practice on a passive mob in a grassy area to get a feel for the aim needed.
  • Remember that reach is unchanged. If you are too far away, the swing will miss entirely rather than pass through grass.
  • In multiplayer, make sure the mod is installed on your client. Server-side behavior may differ depending on how the mod is set up.

What the Mod Does Not Do

It does not increase attack damage, extend reach, or make you immune to mob attacks. It only changes whether plants intercept your melee swings. Keeping that in mind will help you set realistic expectations and troubleshoot faster.
