Classic Glint Resource Pack FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I turn on Classic Glint after installing it?
Open Options > Resource Packs, move Classic Glint Resource Pack from the available list to the selected list, then click Done. The game reloads its resources and enchanted items should show the older glint right away.
Why is my enchanted gear still showing the default glint?
Most often the pack isn't in the selected list, or another pack above it is overriding the glint texture. Make sure Classic Glint is enabled and sits above any other pack that edits the glint, then reload.
Does Classic Glint change my item textures or models?
No. It only replaces the enchantment shimmer, so your items, blocks and gameplay stay the same. The only difference is how the glow looks on enchanted items.
Can I use Classic Glint with other resource packs?
Yes. Put Classic Glint above your other packs in the selected list so its glint takes priority. Your other packs still control everything else, such as item and block textures.
What order should I put Classic Glint in my resource pack list?
Packs higher in the selected list win conflicts. Keep Classic Glint above any pack that also modifies the enchantment glint, and below packs whose overrides you want to keep for other things.
Does Classic Glint affect FPS or performance?
It's a small cosmetic pack that only swaps the glint effect, so it shouldn't cause a noticeable performance change. If your FPS drops, the cause is more likely another pack or a setting.
Do I need to install anything besides the resource pack?
No. It's a plain resource pack, so no mod loader or extra library is needed for the pack itself. You only need to enable it in the Resource Packs menu.
Does Classic Glint work on armor, tools and enchanted books?
It changes the shared enchantment glint effect, so anything that displays the glint should use the classic look. This covers enchanted gear in your inventory, in your hands and on the ground.
The glint looks different from what I remember. Is it broken?
Probably not. The pack restores the stronger, more visible shimmer from older Minecraft, so it will look more pronounced than the default. To check, toggle the pack off and on and compare an enchanted item.
How do I go back to the normal glint?
Open Options > Resource Packs and move Classic Glint back to the available list, then click Done. The default enchantment glint returns after the reload.
