How to Pre-Generate Chunks Around Your Base with Chunky
Pick Your Center Point
Stand where you want the center of the pre-generated area to be, or note the coordinates. Chunky works from a center point outward in a square or circle, so choose a spot that covers everything you care about — your base, farms, mining area, and the routes between them.
Start the Task
Run the Chunky command to begin generation around your current position. The mod will report the shape and radius it is using. If you want a different center, you can specify coordinates instead of using your standing position. Set the radius large enough to cover your intended play area — a common approach is to cover everything within a few hundred blocks of your base so you never hit fresh terrain while walking around.
Watch the Progress
While the task runs, Chunky prints chunks processed, percentage complete, ETA, and the current chunk rate. Keep an eye on the rate: if it drops sharply, something else is competing for CPU. You can leave the game running and let it finish, or pause the task and resume later — progress is saved.
Verify the Result
Once the task completes, walk or fly through the area. Terrain should load smoothly with far less stutter, because the chunks already exist. If you plan to expand later, start a new task centered further out rather than re-running the same one.
