Stop Minecart and Boat Lag in Your Base
Understanding Entity Distance Limits
Chunk Shield Plugin enforces strict spacing rules for boats, rafts, and minecarts to prevent them from clustering and causing lag. These vehicles are heavy on server performance when packed together.
How the Distance Limit Works
1. The plugin measures distance between each boat, raft, and minecart in the same chunk or nearby chunks.
2. If vehicles get too close, the plugin prevents new ones from being placed or spawned until spacing improves.
3. Existing vehicles may be removed if they violate the distance rule during a cleanup cycle.
Practical Tips for Your Base
- Space out your transport lines: Don't run multiple minecart tracks parallel to each other in the same chunk—offset them to different chunks or areas.
- Use separate loading areas: If you have multiple boat docks or minecart stations, spread them across different chunks.
- Check your storage system: If you're using minecarts to move items, ensure the collection points aren't all in one chunk.
- Plan ahead: When building transportation infrastructure, account for the distance requirement and design routes with spacing in mind.
This prevents your convenient transport hub from becoming a lag factory.
