Prevent Heavy Block Spam in Your Build Area
What Counts as Heavy Blocks
Chunk Shield Plugin restricts placement of resource-intensive blocks—like redstone components, containers, and decorative elements—within a single chunk to prevent lag from complex builds.
Building Within Block Limits
1. Identify your heavy blocks: Redstone dust, repeaters, comparators, hoppers, chests, furnaces, and similar blocks consume server resources.
2. Spread your build across chunks: If you're creating a large redstone contraption or storage system, design it so key components sit in different chunks.
3. Use chunk boundaries as natural dividers: Plan your layout so that a redstone line crosses into an adjacent chunk, or place storage areas in separate chunks.
4. Test placement: If you can't place a block, you've hit the chunk limit—move to an adjacent chunk and continue.
Design Strategies
- Modular builds: Break large contraptions into smaller modules placed in different chunks.
- Vertical separation: Stack components in different vertical chunks (Y-levels) if they're far enough apart.
- Distributed storage: Instead of one massive storage room, create multiple smaller storage areas in different chunks.
This keeps your builds functional while respecting server performance needs.
