How to pause, resume or cancel a pregeneration task
Pregeneration can run for a long time, and sometimes you need your server or game back. The /pregen command lets you interrupt it without losing everything.
Pause and resume
1. Type /pregen pause to stop the current run. Chunks that are already generated stay in the world.
2. Use /pregen start later to continue the queued work.
3. Press Tab after /pregen to see the exact subcommands your install offers.
Remove queued tasks
1. If you queued the wrong radius, dimension or centre, pause first.
2. Use /pregen clear to empty the queue.
3. Queue the correct task again with /pregen gen, then start it.
Good to know
- Closing the world or server normally while a task is running is safer than killing the process. A forced kill can interrupt chunk saving.
- Chunks that were already generated aren't harmed if you queue an overlapping area later. The mod simply has less new work to do in that region.
- Queue tasks one at a time and check them before starting if you're unsure about coordinates.
