Understanding the Differences Between Single, Basic, Advanced, and Ultimate Chunk Loaders
The Four Tiers
This mod offers four loader blocks, and the main difference between them is how much area they keep loaded.
- Single Chunk Loader: the smallest option. It keeps exactly one chunk active — the chunk it is placed in. Best for a lone machine, a single spawner, or one small farm.
- Basic Chunk Loader: covers more than a single chunk, suited to a compact build that spills slightly over a boundary.
- Advanced Chunk Loader: handles a larger footprint, appropriate for medium bases with several machines or farms running at once.
- Ultimate Chunk Loader: the largest coverage, intended for big factories, sprawling farms, or multi-chunk redstone contraptions.
Picking the Right One
Count how many chunks your build actually occupies. If your machines sit in one chunk, a Single Chunk Loader is enough. If they span three or four, step up a tier. Using an oversized loader is not harmful, but it is wasteful; using an undersized one means part of your build stops ticking when you leave.
Practical Placement
Place the loader so its coverage overlaps every chunk your build uses. For multi-chunk setups, it is often simpler to place one loader per critical chunk than to rely on a single large loader, especially if your build is irregularly shaped. Verify by leaving the area and checking that everything kept running.
