Chunk Loaders FAQ

20 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I get started with Chunk Loaders?
Craft a Basic Chunk Loader first, place it down, and right-click it to open its interface. From there you can toggle it on and see which chunks it's keeping loaded.
What's the difference between single, basic, advanced, and ultimate Chunk Loaders?
The tiers differ in how many chunks they keep loaded and how far they reach. Single loads one chunk, Basic loads a small area, and Advanced and Ultimate load progressively larger areas.
How many chunks does each chunk loader keep loaded?
Each tier loads a different size area, with Single being the smallest and Ultimate the largest. Check the loader's interface or the mod's tooltip for the exact chunk count of the tier you're using.
Do Chunk Loaders work while I'm offline or on a server?
Chunk loaders keep chunks loaded as long as the world or server is running, but they don't run when the game or server is shut down. On a server, they work as long as the server is online and the chunks are within the loader's range.
My chunk loader isn't working, what should I check?
Make sure the loader is actually enabled in its interface and that you're within its loaded area. Also check that the chunk you care about is inside the loader's range, since loaders only affect chunks near them.
Can I use Chunk Loaders to keep a farm or mob spawner running?
Yes, that's one of the main uses. Place the loader so the farm or spawner's chunks are inside its range, then leave it enabled and the machines or mobs will keep ticking.
Do Chunk Loaders cause lag or performance problems?
Keeping many chunks loaded means more entities and block updates are processed, which can hurt performance. Use the smallest tier that covers the area you need and avoid overlapping loaders.
Can I have multiple Chunk Loaders at once?
Yes, you can place several loaders, but their loaded areas can overlap and waste resources. Space them out so each one covers only the chunks you actually need.
Does the Chunk Loaders Mod work on Minecraft Bedrock?
This mod is made for Minecraft Java Edition and is not available for Bedrock. Bedrock has its own separate behavior for keeping chunks loaded, so this mod won't apply there.
How do I turn a chunk loader off or remove it?
Open the loader's interface and toggle it off, or simply break the block to remove it. Once disabled or removed, the chunks it was keeping loaded will unload normally.
What does the Chunk Loaders Mod do?
It keeps chunks loaded using different tiers of chunk loaders. Loaded chunks also receive random ticks, so crops, sugar cane, and trees keep growing.
What Chunk Loaders does the Chunk Loaders Mod add?
It adds four chunk loaders: Basic, Single, Advanced, and Ultimate. The Single Chunk Loader loads a single chunk, the Basic loads a 3 by 3 area, the Advanced a 5 by 5 area, and the Ultimate a 7 by 7 area.
How many chunks can each chunk loader load?
The Single Chunk Loader loads one chunk, the Basic loads a 3 by 3 area, the Advanced loads a 5 by 5 area, and the Ultimate loads a 7 by 7 area.
How do I use a chunk loader?

Do Chunk Loaders work automatically when I load my world?
Yes, chunk loaders automatically load chunks when you load a world.
Do loaded chunks receive random ticks?
Yes, loaded chunks receive random ticks, so crops, sugar cane, and trees will keep growing.
Why are mobs not spawning when I have a chunk loader?
Mobs only spawn around players, not just when a chunk is loaded. A chunk loader alone will not make mobs spawn.
