Create a Custom Banner Design on Your Shield

Prepare Your Banner

Banners can be applied to shields to create custom designs. Craft or find a banner with your desired pattern using dyes and loom mechanics.

Apply the Banner to Your Shield

1. Open your crafting grid or crafting table

2. Place your shield in one slot

3. Place your banner in an adjacent slot

4. Drag the resulting shield with banner design into your inventory

The banner pattern will now appear on your shield. With this resource pack, the banner design will render with improved clarity and sharpness compared to vanilla Minecraft, making intricate patterns and details much more visible during combat.

View Your Design

Hold the shield to see the banner design clearly on the lower portion of your screen. The lowered shield position means you can admire your custom design without it blocking your entire view. You can also place the shield in an item frame to see the centered, high-quality rendering of your banner work.

Remove a Banner

If you want to change designs, place your banner-decorated shield in a crafting grid with a cauldron to remove the banner and reuse both items.
