Chems’ Guns Data Pack FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I start using this mod?
Place a crafting table and open the recipe book to search for weapons by tier number or type like "Pistol" or "Shotgun". Gather basic metals and gunpowder from mining and mob drops, then craft your first firearm using the standard crafting interface.
What's the difference between the weapon tiers?
The eight tiers progress from basic early-game handguns (tier 1) to late-game superweapons like airstrikes and Tesla cannons (tier 8). Lower tiers use common materials and deal moderate damage, while higher tiers require boss drops and deal massive area damage.
How do I get high-tier weapons?
Defeat world bosses that spawn throughout your world—they drop components and materials needed to craft tier 6-8 weapons like missile launchers and siege artillery. You cannot craft these weapons without boss drops.
Can I get a gun directly without crafting?
Yes, use the command `/function give: ` to add any firearm directly to your inventory. Replace ` ` with the exact name of the weapon you want.
Do I need to equip guns in a special way?
Hold the firearm in your main hand and aim at mobs or blocks, then use your attack/shoot button to fire. The gun will consume ammunition from your inventory automatically.
What ammo do I need for different guns?
Each weapon type uses specific ammunition that you craft at the crafting table alongside the gun itself. Search the recipe book for ammo types by tier or weapon category to see what's needed.
Will this mod work with Gun Core?
Yes, this data pack is built to extend Gun Core and requires it to function. Make sure Gun Core is installed and loaded before using Chems' Guns.
Can I use these guns to defend my base from mobs?
Absolutely—equip any firearm and shoot approaching hostile mobs to defend your base. Heavy weapons like missile launchers and airstrikes are especially effective for clearing large groups or destroying structures.
Why can't I find a weapon in the recipe book?
Try searching by tier number (1-8) or weapon category (Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun, etc.) instead of the exact gun name. If the recipe still doesn't appear, you may lack the required materials or boss components to unlock it.
Do airstrikes and missile strikes actually destroy terrain?
Yes, high-tier weapons like airstrikes and missile bombardments create massive explosions that destroy blocks and structures. Use them carefully around areas you want to keep intact.
