In vanilla Minecraft, obtaining a map requires crafting a compass first—which needs redstone and iron. This mod eliminates that bottleneck. You can map your world the moment you have paper and black dye, often within the first few minutes of gameplay.

Prioritize Paper and Dye Collection

Focus on:

• Cutting sugar cane for paper (renewable and fast)
• Killing squids near water for ink sacs (or finding black dye in loot)

Both are far easier to obtain than mining iron or finding redstone.

Map Before Building

Create a map early to identify promising locations for your base, farms, or resource gathering. You'll know where villages, water sources, and useful biomes are before committing to a build location. This saves time and helps you plan a better world layout from the start.
