Find Structures and Biomes Using Maps
Activate and Read Your Map
Hold a completed map and right-click to view it. The map displays terrain in a top-down view, showing:
- Grass, sand, stone, and water in different colors
- Your current position as a pointer
- Structures and landmarks as you explore
Explore Systematically
Walk in one direction while watching your map fill in. This reveals biome boundaries, water features, and large structures. Maps are especially useful for spotting:
- Villages (distinctive patterns)
- Temples and pyramids
- Ocean monuments
- Caves and ravines (shown as darker areas)
Create Multiple Maps for Coverage
Since maps are now affordable, craft several to cover a wider area. Each map shows a fixed region, so overlapping maps help you navigate between distant locations. This is much faster than exploring blindly or using coordinates alone.
