How to Translate Chat Messages You Don't Understand
Using the Translation Feature
When a message appears in a language you don't read, use the mod's translation tool on that message. The feature is designed to take the chat line and pass it through translation so you can read it in your own language. Trigger it from the chat interface — typically by clicking or using the assigned action on the message — and the translated result is shown to you.
What Happens to the Text
Before any processing, the mod removes all color codes (the §-style codes) from player messages. This means the text sent for translation is clean, without formatting artifacts that could confuse the translator. Keep this in mind: if a message relied on color to convey meaning, that nuance is gone by the time you translate it.
Session and Context
Translation works per message, so you can translate selectively rather than everything at once. The session identifier — the current save name in single-player or the server address in multiplayer — tells you which context you're in, which matters if you keep separate configs or notes per world/server.
Tips
- Hover config items with F3 + H enabled to see exactly which key controls translation behavior.
- If translation seems off, remember the source text had formatting stripped, so only the plain words are being translated.
- Behavior can differ slightly between Minecraft versions because the mod uses macro replacement across versions.
