Setting Up Multiple Chat Tabs and Windows with Chat Plus

Creating tabs

Chat Plus can split your chat into separate tabs so different message types do not drown each other out. Open the chat settings and enable tab support. You can let the mod create tabs automatically, which groups messages by type such as chat, whispers, and system messages, or create them manually and name each one yourself.

Assigning messages to tabs

For manual tabs, define what each tab catches. A common setup is one tab for public chat, one for private messages, and one for server or command feedback. Route messages by keyword, sender, or message category depending on the filters the mod exposes. Test by sending a message and watching which tab it lands in, then adjust the filter until it behaves.

Notifications and highlights

Turn on tab notifications so a tab flashes or shows a badge when it receives a message while you are looking elsewhere. Combine this with automatic line highlights so important lines stand out without you reading every message. If a tab feels noisy, tighten its filter rather than disabling notifications entirely, so you still catch whispers and mentions.
