How to Farm Champion Loot Efficiently

Setting Up a Farm

Champions drop better loot than normal mobs, so a controlled farm pays off. Build a standard mob spawner or dark-room farm in an area where Champions can spawn, then funnel mobs into a kill zone. Because Champions have more health and armor, your kill mechanism needs to handle them — fall damage alone often won't finish a high-tier Champion.

Kill Mechanism

Use a piston-crushing or suffocation setup that deals continuous damage rather than a single fall. For Champions with Shielding or Lively, you need sustained damage to break through. Avoid Reflective Champions in automated farms if your kill method reflects — use environmental damage (lava, cactus, suffocation) which typically bypasses reflect. Sort Champions from normal mobs with a tag or name filter if your farm uses one.

Maximizing Drops

Apply Looting to your killing weapon if you finish Champions manually. For automated kills, check whether the mod respects Looting on the killing entity; if not, kill Champions by hand. Keep a hopper system under the kill zone so drops don't despawn. If you're hunting a specific affix's loot table, note that higher tiers (Epic, Legendary) generally roll better rewards, so bias your farm toward those tiers via config weights rather than farming everything equally.
