How to Craft Colored Chalk in the Chalk Colorful Addon

Getting the Base Chalk First

Before you can make colored chalk, you need the base chalk item from the parent Chalk mod. Craft it using the standard recipe from that mod (chalk is typically made from a white dye-like material combined with a binding ingredient). Once you have plain chalk in your inventory, the addon recipes unlock.

Applying Color

Open your crafting grid and combine one piece of base chalk with a dye of the color you want. Each of the 15 Minecraft dye colors maps to a matching chalk color, so red dye gives red chalk, lapis gives blue chalk, and so on. The addon also keeps a default white chalk available if you want neutral markings without applying any dye.

Practical Tips

• Craft in batches: make several chalks of each color at once so you do not run back to a crafting table mid-build.
• Keep a chest near your build site stocked with one chalk of every color for quick swaps.
• If a recipe does not appear in your recipe book, check that you are using the correct dye item and not a substitute like bonemeal for white.
• Colored chalk behaves identically to regular chalk when drawing, so any technique that works with the base mod works here too.
