Centurion Ships Resource Pack FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

Why don't my ships look different after installing the mod?
Centurion Ships requires OptiFine to display the custom ship models. Install OptiFine and enable custom entity models in its settings, then restart your game and create a new boat to see the detailed sailing ships.
Do I need to do anything special to start using the ships?
No special setup is needed—just craft boats normally and they'll automatically appear as the new ship models once OptiFine is installed and active. Existing boats in your world will update to the new look when you reload the area.
Can I choose what type of ship I get?
Yes, the ship's appearance changes based on the wood type you use to craft the boat—oak, spruce, birch, and mangrove each have their own unique ship designs with different sail colors and hull details.
Do the ships actually sail differently or is it just cosmetic?
The ships are purely cosmetic and behave exactly like vanilla boats—they have the same speed, controls, and mechanics, just with a much better visual appearance.
Will the mod work with my other mods and resource packs?
Centurion Ships is a resource pack, so it should work alongside most mods, but it may conflict with other resource packs that modify boats or entity models. Load Centurion Ships last in your resource pack order for best results.
Can I see the full ship while sailing?
The default first-person view shows limited detail, but using a third-person camera mod lets you see the entire ship with all its decorative elements like sails, anchors, and deck details while you sail.
Why do my ships look wrong or glitchy?
Check that OptiFine is installed and custom entity models are enabled in its settings. If ships still look incorrect, try regenerating your resource pack cache or reinstalling OptiFine, as conflicts can prevent proper model loading.
Do the ships work the same in multiplayer?
Yes, the ships work identically in multiplayer—other players with the resource pack installed will see the detailed ships, while players without it will see vanilla boats.
Can I use this with Sodium or other performance mods instead of OptiFine?
Centurion Ships specifically requires OptiFine's custom entity model features, so Sodium and similar alternatives won't display the ship models properly.
What if I want to go back to vanilla boats?
Simply disable or remove the Centurion Ships resource pack from your resource pack folder and restart your game—your boats will immediately return to their vanilla appearance.
