Placing Modded Torches on the Ceiling
Supported Torches
The mod is built to support vanilla torches, soul torches, and redstone torches, and it also supports many modded torches. If a modded torch normally places on walls or floors, it will usually place on the ceiling too, as long as the mod registers it as a torch-like block.
How to Place Them
1. Hold the modded torch in your hand.
2. Look up at the underside of a solid block.
3. Use the place button, exactly as you would with a vanilla torch.
If a Modded Torch Will Not Place
- Some modded light sources are not true torches (for example, lanterns or lamps) and will not hang upside down. Check whether the item is actually a torch.
- A few mods use custom placement logic that overrides the ceiling behavior. In that case, the torch may only place on walls or floors.
- Make sure the block above is a valid attachment surface. Try a plain solid block like stone or planks to test.
Mixing Torch Types
You can freely mix vanilla, soul, redstone, and modded torches on the same ceiling. Use soul torches for a blue tint, redstone torches for hidden signals, and modded torches for themed builds. Just remember each type keeps its own light level and behavior.
