How to fix outlined or glitchy text when using Caxton with Sodium or ImmediatelyFast
Two companion mods are known to interfere with Caxton's text rendering. Both problems have simple fixes.
Outlined text with Sodium
If text looks wrongly outlined while Sodium is installed, the cause is usually an older Caxton build running alongside an older Sodium release. The combination of an early Caxton release and Sodium 0.5.5 has this specific outline bug.
1. Update Caxton to its latest build.
2. If the issue persists, update Sodium too.
3. Restart the game fully. A resource reload is not enough.
Current Caxton and Sodium builds are otherwise compatible.
Broken text with ImmediatelyFast
Recent ImmediatelyFast releases can break Caxton text because of how they sort text render layers. The fix is to turn that option off.
1. Open the ImmediatelyFast config. Use its config screen if you have a mod menu installed, or edit its config file in the config folder while the game is closed.
2. Find the setting named sortTextRenderLayers.
3. Set it to false.
4. Save, then start or restart the game.
If text is still wrong after this, remove other rendering mods one at a time to find which one conflicts.
