How to change the in-game font with a Caxton resource pack
Caxton does not have its own font menu. It reads the font from a resource pack that is set up for it, and swaps out the standard Minecraft font.
Apply the font pack
1. Put the font resource pack in your resourcepacks folder, or drag it onto the Minecraft window.
2. Open Options → Resource Packs.
3. Move the pack from the left column (available) to the right column (selected).
4. Move it above any other packs that change fonts or text. Packs higher in the list win conflicts.
5.
On the first load, Caxton generates the font data, so the reload can take longer than usual. See the guide on first-time generation lag for details.
If nothing changes
- Check that the pack is really in the selected column and not just present in the folder.
- Check that the pack was made for Caxton. Ordinary packs without a Caxton font definition will not change anything, because Caxton only reacts to packs in its own format.
- Look for another selected pack above yours that overrides the font.
- Reload with F3 + T after changing the pack order.
Once it works, text such as chat, signs, tooltips and menus should look crisp at any GUI scale. Real bold and italic styles use the font's own bold and italic faces when the pack provides them.
