How to Survive Caves After Installing the Cave Spider Spawn Mod

Prepare Before You Descend

With natural cave spider spawns enabled, poison becomes a routine hazard underground. Before caving, bring milk buckets to clear poison, a shield to block hits, and decent armor. Torches or other light sources are essential because cave spiders spawn in darkness, and lighting up tunnels reduces spawns dramatically.

Fight Them Safely

1. Keep your back to a wall so the small spiders cannot slip behind you through one-block gaps.

2. Use a shield to absorb their lunges, then counterattack.

3. Avoid fighting in cramped tunnels where they can reach you from multiple directions.

4. If you get poisoned, drink milk immediately rather than waiting for the effect to wear off.

Control Spawns in Your Base

Cave spiders can appear in any dark underground space, including mines and basements. Light every tunnel and room fully, seal off unused shafts, and use slabs or carpets on floors to prevent spawns. If you want fewer of them overall, lower the conversion chance in the config, or restrict their spawns to deeper Y levels so your upper caves stay safer.
