How to Get Cave Dust Particles to Appear in Your Caves
Understanding Where Dust Spawns
Cave Dust is purely visual, so there is no item to craft or block to place. The mod hooks into cave generation and ambient effects, spawning white ash-style particles in Overworld caves. The key restriction is that lush caves are excluded — if you are standing in a cave full of moss, glow berries, and azalea, you will not see dust no matter what you do. Move into a standard stone, deepslate, or dripstone cave and the particles should appear on their own.
Getting Particles to Show Up
1. Dig or walk into a cave that is not a lush cave biome.
2. Stand still for a few seconds — particles drift and settle rather than burst instantly.
3. Check your video settings. Particles must not be set to Minimal or Decreased; set them to All so ambient effects render.
4. If you use a shader pack, confirm it does not strip vanilla particle types. Some shaders hide or replace ambient particles.
5. If you still see nothing, leave and re-enter the cave so the client refreshes the area.
Dust is densest in enclosed, unlit tunnels and thinner near cave mouths where light floods in. If you want a dramatic screenshot, go deep and turn off torches.
