How to Disable or Reduce Cave Dust If You Don't Like It
Why You Might Want It Off
Cave Dust is cosmetic, but some players find the constant white particles distracting, laggy on low-end machines, or visually confusing when mining. Because the mod is aesthetic-only, turning it off costs you nothing gameplay-wise.
Options for Reducing or Removing Dust
1. Lower your particle setting. In Video Settings, change Particles from All to Decreased or Minimal. This is the fastest fix and affects all particle types, not just dust.
2. Check for a config file. Many aesthetic mods ship a config that lets you toggle dust per-dimension or adjust density. Look in your config folder for a file matching the mod's name and open it with a text editor. If there is a density or enable option, set it to your preference and restart the game.
3. Remove the mod entirely. Since it adds no blocks, items, or world data, you can delete it from your mods folder without corrupting an existing world. Back up your save first as good practice.
4. Use a resource pack. Some packs replace or hide particle textures. If you only dislike the look, a pack that swaps the ash texture for something subtler may be enough.
Test changes in a single cave before committing to a full playthrough.
