Catalogue Mod FAQ

12 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I open the Catalogue Mod menu?
Open the mods list from the main menu or pause menu the same way you normally would for Forge, and Catalogue replaces the default screen automatically. If you don't see it, make sure Catalogue is installed on the client, since it only changes the client-side menu.
Why does the mods button still look vanilla?
Catalogue only reskins the mods list screen, so if you're seeing the old layout, another mod is likely overriding that screen or Catalogue isn't loaded. Check your mods list for conflicts with other menu-overhaul mods.
How do I search for a specific mod in the list?
Use the search bar at the top of the Catalogue menu and start typing the mod's name; the list filters as you type. You can combine this with the filter buttons to narrow results further.
How do I filter mods by whether they have a config or an update?
Use the filter toggles in the Catalogue menu to show only mods with configs, mods with available updates, or other categories. This is handy when you want to quickly find which mods you can tweak or update.
How do I favorite a mod and sort by favorites?
Click the star/favorite icon on a mod's entry to mark it, then use the sort option to put favorites first. Favorites persist between sessions so your most-used mods stay at the top.
How do I edit a mod's config from Catalogue?
Click the config button on a mod's entry if the mod author provides a config screen; Catalogue opens it directly. If the mod has no config screen, the button won't be available.
Why can't I edit some mods' configs in Catalogue?
Catalogue can only open config screens that the mod author has provided; mods without a built-in config GUI can't be edited here. For those, you'd need to edit the config file manually or use a mod like Configured if it supports them.
How do I see a mod's dependencies?
Right-click a mod's entry in the Catalogue menu to open a context menu showing its dependencies and other options. This helps you spot missing or required mods at a glance.
How do I open a mod's website or issue tracker from the menu?
Right-click the mod entry and choose the link option for its homepage, source, or issue tracker. Catalogue reads these links from the mod's metadata, so they only appear if the author provided them.
Does Catalogue work with Configured?
Yes, Catalogue is compatible with Configured, and together they improve how you browse and edit mod configs from the menu. If you use both, config editing is handled through Configured's interface where available.
Does Catalogue affect performance or work on servers?
Catalogue is a client-side menu mod, so it doesn't need to be installed on a server and won't affect gameplay performance. It only changes how the mods list looks and behaves on your client.
Can I use Catalogue with other mod menu mods?
Catalogue replaces the Forge mods list screen, so running it alongside another mod that overhauls the same screen can cause conflicts. If the menu looks broken, try removing the other menu mod.
