Prepare Your World for Boss Fights with Compatible Blocks
Understanding Block Destruction
When Cataclysm bosses fight in your world, they'll now destroy blocks from modded add-ons—not just vanilla Minecraft blocks. This data pack expands which blocks count as "destructible" during boss encounters, preventing bosses from getting stuck on unfamiliar terrain.
Setting Up Your Arena
If you're building a boss arena or expecting a boss to spawn naturally:
1. Clear mixed terrain carefully. Bosses will smash through Twigs, Habitat, and Autumnity blocks during combat. If you've built walls from these mods, they won't protect you—plan accordingly.
2. Use compatible blocks strategically. Blocks that bosses *can* destroy are useful for creating dynamic arenas. Blocks they *cannot* destroy (like obsidian or deepslate variants) work better for containment.
3. Test in creative mode first. Spawn a boss in a test arena made from modded blocks to see which ones get demolished and plan your real arena around this.
4. Account for collateral damage. Boss destruction spreads beyond their direct path. Keep valuable builds away from expected boss routes.
