Surviving the Deep Dark and Warden with Cat Eyes Mod
Why Blindness and Darkness Matter
In the Deep Dark, the Darkness effect pulses your vision down to almost nothing, and Wardens inflict Blindness on hit. Both make it nearly impossible to navigate or flee. Cat Eyes can be configured to ignore these effects, which means your screen stays readable even while the status icons are still showing. This is the single biggest reason to use the mod in that biome.
Enabling the Immunity Setting
Open the mod's config file, CatEyes_config.properties, in a text editor. Look for the options that control immunity to the Darkness and Blindness effects and set them to enabled. Save the file and restart the game so the change loads. Once active, you can walk through sculk-infested tunnels and still see the floor, the shrieker positions, and the exit.
Practical Warden Encounters
With immunity on, keep your night vision toggled active and move in short bursts. Seeing clearly does not stop the Warden from detecting you, so pair the mod with sneaking and wool placement. If you do get hit, the Blindness will not black out your screen, giving you a real chance to run. Remember the mod only changes what you see, not how the Warden behaves.
