Configuring Cat Eyes Mod Settings and Compatibility

Editing the Config File

All optional behaviour lives in CatEyes_config.properties, found in your game's config folder. Open it with any plain text editor. Inside you will find toggles for the effect immunities and related options. Change a value, save, and relaunch the game for it to take effect. If you are unsure what a line does, change one setting at a time so you can tell which one caused a difference.

Keeping Visuals Crisp with Shaders

Cat Eyes is built to work alongside Optifine and Iris, so you do not need to disable your shader pack to use it. If night vision looks washed out or too bright with a particular shader, try a different shader profile or lower its brightness setting rather than turning the mod off. The toggle is client-side, so shader changes apply immediately without a restart.

Server and Multiplayer Notes

The mod is client-side, meaning it changes only your own view. On servers this can be considered a cheat, so check the rules before using it in multiplayer. If a server blocks it, the toggle simply will not function. In singleplayer or creative mode there are no restrictions, and the config immunities remain the most useful settings to tune for Deep Dark exploration.
