Mark Danger Zones and Areas to Avoid
Identifying Hazardous Areas
Danger zones might include active mob spawners, lava lakes, deep ravines, or PvP hotspots on multiplayer servers. Decide which areas need warnings.
Creating a Danger Zone
1. Open Xaero's Map and access Zone Painter
2. Switch to Chunk mode
3. Paint all chunks covering the dangerous area with a warning color (red or dark red is conventional)
4. Name the zone clearly, such as "Lava Cavern" or "PvP Zone"
Managing Multiple Hazards
Create separate zones for different types of dangers so you can quickly identify what to avoid. You can paint irregular shapes by selecting individual chunks—they don't need to form a perfect rectangle. Update your danger zones if new hazards appear or old ones are cleared.
These marked areas will remain visible on your map as persistent reminders, helping you navigate safely and avoid unexpected deaths or conflicts. The zones are client-side only, so they won't affect other players on multiplayer servers.
