How to pick up a mob and throw it out of your way

A mob blocking a doorway, a farm path or a boat dock can be moved quickly by picking it up and tossing it.

Steps

1. Empty both hands.

2. Sneak and right-click the mob. Carry On lifts it and you carry it in front of you.

3. Turn to face open ground away from where you are working.

4. Press Shift + Q. The mob is thrown a short distance away from you.

Things to watch for

• Pick a safe landing area. Throwing a mob toward a ledge, lava or deep water can end badly for it.
• Throwing is quicker than finding a spot to place the mob, but it is less exact. If you need the mob in a specific pen, walk over and place it normally.
• Hostile mobs and mobs that Carry On does not allow you to pick up cannot be carried, so they cannot be thrown.
• If the mob keeps coming back toward you, throw it again from further away or put a fence or wall between you.
