Carry On Extend Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I throw a block or mob with Carry On Extend?
Pick up the block or mob with Carry On as usual, then press Shift + Q while you're holding it. It leaves your hands and is tossed away from you a short distance.
Do I need the main Carry On mod for this to work?
Yes. Carry On Extend only adds the throw action to Carry On, so you need Carry On installed to pick things up. If you aren't carrying anything, the throw key has nothing to act on.
Shift + Q isn't doing anything, what's wrong?
First check that you're actually carrying a block or mob, because the key does nothing with empty hands. Then open Controls in Minecraft's key binds menu and check that the throw key is still bound and isn't conflicting with another mod's key. Conflicting keys are highlighted there.
How do I change the throw key?
Open Options > Controls > Key Binds and find the throw entry for carried objects. Click it and press the key or key combination you want. The default is Shift + Q.
Can I throw mobs as well as chests?
Yes. Anything you can carry with Carry On, whether a block like a chest or a mob, can be thrown with the same key. It's handy for getting a mob out of your way without carefully placing it down.
How far does the thrown block or mob go?
It's a short toss away from where you're facing, not a long launch. The mod doesn't have a range setting that I know of, so don't count on it to cross big gaps.
Why can't I pick up or throw a certain block or mob?
Throwing only works on things Carry On lets you pick up in the first place. If something can't be carried, check Carry On's own settings, since it can restrict certain blocks and mobs. Carry On Extend doesn't change what is carriable.
Is throwing a chest safe for the items inside?
The point of the feature is to move chests quickly, and the chest is what you're carrying, so its contents travel with it. If the contents matter, test with a spare chest first so you know how it lands in your setup.
Will Shift + Q make me drop my held item instead?
Q normally drops your hotbar item, so Shift + Q can feel similar. While you're carrying something with Carry On, the combo is meant to throw the carried object. If it behaves oddly, rebind the throw key to something that doesn't overlap with other controls.
Does this mod affect performance?
It only adds one extra action, throwing what you're already carrying, so it shouldn't add noticeable load on its own. If you see lag, it's more likely coming from the number of mobs or blocks being moved around or from other mods.
