Fixing Shift + Q when nothing gets thrown
If you press Shift + Q and the block or mob stays in your hands, or the item you were holding gets dropped instead, work through these checks.
Quick checks
1. Are you actually carrying something? The throw only works while a block or mob is held through Carry On. Pick it up with an empty hand by sneaking and right-clicking it.
2. Press both keys together. Hold Shift, then tap Q. If you only press Q, you will just drop a regular item.
3. Look at your key binds. Open Options, then Controls, then Key Binds, and find the throw entry. Confirm it is still set to what you expect and is not marked as conflicting with another action.
4. Check that the mod is loaded. Carry On Extend needs the main Carry On mod. Look at your mods list to make sure both are present.
Other things to try
- Click back into the game window in case a menu or chat box has focus.
- If another mod uses Shift + Q, rebind one of them to a different key.
- If a block or mob cannot be picked up in the first place, the cause is Carry On's own settings, not the throw key. Try picking up something simple, such as a chest, to test.
