Carpet Extra Extras Mod FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I turn on a Carpet Extra Extras rule?
Use the normal Carpet syntax, for example `/carpet trackEnderPearls true`. Run `/carpet` with the rule name to see its current value and the options it accepts. To keep a setting across world restarts, use `/carpet setDefault `.
How do I see where my thrown Ender Pearls land?
Enable the pearl tracking rule with `/carpet trackEnderPearls true`, then subscribe to the logger with `/log Pearls`. After that, your pearls are reported in chat as you throw them. If nothing shows up, check that the rule is actually on and that you are subscribed.
/Log Pearls does nothing, what am I missing?
The most common cause is that the `trackEnderPearls` rule is still off, so there is nothing to log. Turn it on with `/carpet trackEnderPearls true`, run `/log Pearls` again, and throw a new pearl, because pearls already in flight may not be tracked.
How do I stack shulker boxes in hoppers and dispensers?
Use the stackable shulker rules: `stackableShulkerLimitHoppers`, `stackableShulkerLimitDroppers` and `stackableShulkerLimitDispensers` set the limit for each block type. `stackableShulkerLimitAllContainers` is the general setting that covers all containers. Set them with `/carpet ` and check the rule's listed options for accepted values.
Why won't my shulker boxes stack in a chest or my inventory?
The rules are split by container type, so a limit set for hoppers does not automatically change anything else. Use `stackableShulkerLimitAllContainers` for the broader behavior. Shulker boxes that already hold items may not combine the way empty ones do, so test with empty boxes first.
How do I skip the night when I'm using Carpet bots?
Turn on `carpetBotsSkipNight` with `/carpet carpetBotsSkipNight true`. Bots you spawned with `/player` are then handled by the sleep check, so they don't hold up the night while real players sleep. You still need to get into a bed yourself.
Can I put my Carpet bots on a team with a color and prefix?
Yes. Enable `carpetBotTeam`, then set the team name with `carpetBotTeamName` and the prefix text with `carpetBotTeamPrefixName`. Colors come from `carpetBotTeamColor` and `carpetBotTeamPrefixColor`. Bots spawned after the rules are set should join the team, which makes them easy to tell apart from real players.
How do I use freecam?
Enable `commandCam` with `/carpet commandCam true`, then run `/cam` or `/c` to leave your body and fly around. Run the command again to return. Stay safe while using it, since your character is still in the world and can be attacked.
How do I check my ping?
Enable the `commandPing` rule if it isn't already on, then type `/ping`. It reports your latency to the server, which is useful for working out whether lag comes from your connection or from the server.
Do I need regular Carpet installed, and will these rules affect performance or farm behavior?
Yes, Carpet Extra Extras is an add-on, so Carpet must be installed alongside it. Rules like `pre21ThrowableEntityBehavior` and `optimizedTNTInteraction` change how throwables and TNT behave, which can matter for existing farms and contraptions. Test them on a copy of your world before relying on them, and turn a rule back off with `/carpet false` if a build misbehaves.
