Troubleshoot a Cape Not Appearing
Check Configuration Syntax
Open config/cape-provider.json5 and verify:
- The file is valid JSON5 format (no syntax errors)
- Your UUID or username is spelled correctly
- The cape URL is complete and accessible
- At least one provider is enabled (
true)
Verify the Cape Image
- Test the URL in your browser to confirm it loads
- Ensure the image is PNG format and exactly 64×32 pixels
- Check that the file isn't corrupted
Restart and Clear Cache
1. Save your config changes
2. Close Minecraft completely
3. Delete the mod's cache folder if one exists (check mod documentation)
4. Relaunch Minecraft
Check Account Format
Confirm you're using the correct identifier:
- For UUID: use the full UUID without dashes (or with dashes, depending on provider)
- For username: use your exact Minecraft username
- Some providers only accept one format
If issues persist, verify the provider service itself is online and hasn't changed its API.
