Camera Overhaul by Mirsario Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I change Camera Overhaul settings in-game?
Open the mod's in-game settings menu and adjust the slider or value for each effect (tilt, jump pitch, explosion shake, idle sway). Changes apply right away, so you can test them by walking around.
Camera Overhaul makes me dizzy or motion sick. What should I turn down first?
Lower the side-to-side tilt (strafing and turning roll) first, since it's the most noticeable effect, then the idle sway. If it's still too much, reduce the jump and forward/back pitch effects, or set them to zero to disable them.
How do I turn off just one effect without removing the mod?
Set that effect's strength to 0 in the settings menu or in cameraoverhaul.toml. The other effects keep working normally.
Can I use negative values in the settings?
Yes. A negative strength flips that effect, so the camera tilts or pitches the opposite way. This is useful if the default direction feels wrong to you.
How do I stop the screen shaking when a creeper or TNT explodes?
Lower or zero out the explosion shake setting. This only affects shaking from nearby explosions, not the other movement effects.
Why does my screen slowly sway when I stand still?
That's the idle sway effect. After you stand still for a few seconds, the camera starts a gentle swaying motion. Reduce its strength or set it to 0 to stop it.
Where is the Camera Overhaul config file, and can I edit it by hand?
It's at .minecraft/config/cameraoverhaul.toml, and you can edit it in any text editor. Close the game first so your edits aren't overwritten, then relaunch to apply them.
How do I reset Camera Overhaul to default settings?
Close the game and delete cameraoverhaul.toml from the config folder. The mod generates a fresh file with default values the next time you launch.
My config edits aren't doing anything. What went wrong?
Usually the game was still running and overwrote your changes on exit, or a value has a typo or a broken format. Close the game, re-edit the file keeping the existing structure, and check that you didn't change any key names.
Will Camera Overhaul hurt my FPS or clash with other mods?
It only changes the camera angle, so it shouldn't cost noticeable performance. Conflicts are most likely with other mods that also modify the camera or view bobbing, so if the view acts strangely, try disabling those mods or turning off the overlapping effect.
