Call Your Parrot Mod FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I tame a parrot in the first place?
Feed seeds (melon or pumpkin) to wild parrots until they become tamed—you'll see hearts appear and the parrot will follow you. Once tamed, the parrot is yours to summon with the goat horn.
Do I need a goat horn to use this mod?
Yes, you need a goat horn to summon your tamed parrots. The horn is used as a whistle to call them to your location.
How far away can my parrot be when I summon it?
The mod summons parrots from a reasonable distance around you, but parrots that wander too far may not respond to the horn call—keep them relatively nearby for reliable summoning.
Can I summon multiple parrots at once?
Yes, blowing the goat horn will summon all of your tamed parrots that are within range at the same time.
What happens if I blow the horn and my parrot doesn't show up?
Your parrot may be too far away, stuck in a block, or the summoning failed—check that the parrot is still tamed (look for it in the area) and try moving to open space before using the horn again.
Can I use this mod with other mods that add parrots?
The mod works with vanilla parrots; compatibility with other parrot-adding mods depends on whether they use the same taming mechanics, so test in your modpack to be sure.
Do parrots stay tamed if I leave the world?
Yes, tamed parrots are saved with your world data and will remain tamed when you return.
What if I lose my goat horn?
You can craft or find another goat horn to continue summoning your parrots—losing the horn doesn't affect your tamed parrots.
Can parrots get stuck or lost after being summoned?
Parrots can occasionally get stuck in terrain or wander into dangerous areas after summoning; keep an eye on them and summon them again if needed to reposition them.
Does this mod affect game performance?
The mod is lightweight and should have minimal impact on performance, even with multiple tamed parrots.
