Call Your Dog Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I start using this mod?
First, tame a wolf by giving it bones until it has a red collar. Then, use the command provided in the mod to create an enchanted goat horn linked to that specific dog. Once linked, you can use the horn to call your dog back to you.
Can I call my dog if it's in a different dimension?
No, your dog must be in the same dimension as you for the call to work. If your dog is in the Nether or End and you're in the Overworld, you'll need to travel there first or retrieve it another way.
What happens if my dog is stuck in blocks or terrain?
Calling your dog will teleport or pathfind it to your location, freeing it from being stuck. If it still appears trapped after calling, try calling again or moving to a more open area before calling.
Why is my dog invisible after I called it?
This is a known visual glitch that can happen after teleporting. The mod includes an easy fix command to restore your dog's visibility without losing your link to it.
Do I need a separate horn for each dog?
Yes, each goat horn must be linked to a specific dog using the mod's command. However, you can call multiple linked dogs at once by using the horn if they're all in range.
Will my dog respond if it's in unloaded chunks?
Yes, this mod works even when your dog is in unloaded chunks far away from you. The dog will still teleport or run to you when you call.
Can I use a regular goat horn or does it have to be enchanted?
You must use an enchanted goat horn created through the mod's command. A regular goat horn won't work for calling your dog.
What if I lose or accidentally break my linked horn?
You can create a new enchanted horn and link it to your dog using the command again. Your dog will respond to the new horn.
Does this mod work with other dog mods or mods that add new wolf types?
The mod is designed to work with vanilla tamed wolves. Compatibility with other mods that add custom wolf or dog types depends on how those mods are coded, so results may vary.
Is there a cooldown between calling my dog?
The mod allows you to call your dog repeatedly, though there may be a brief delay between calls to prevent spam. Check the mod's configuration if you want to adjust call frequency.
