Troubleshooting: why the cat horn isn't working

If you can't get the horn or it doesn't bring your cat, go through these checks in order.

If you can't get the horn

• Is the cat tamed by you? The horn can only be given to the cat's owner. Cats tamed by other players won't work for you.
• Does it have a name? The cat must be named first.
• Are you holding a goat horn? It must be in your hand while you sneak. Any goat horn works.
• Are you sneaking the whole time and looking at the cat? Hold it for about 4 seconds without breaking eye contact.

If the horn doesn't call the cat

• Make sure you are the owner. Other players can't use your horn.
• Check that you are holding the horn with the cat's name, not a plain goat horn.
• If the cat seems to be missing after the call, rejoin the game. It may just be invisible because it was too far away.

Other notes

• Distance and unloaded chunks are not a problem for the call itself.
• With multiple cats, a separate named horn is needed for each one. Make the horn again for any cat that doesn't have one yet.
