C4Music Resource Pack FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I activate C4Music so it actually changes my soundtrack?
Open your Resource Packs menu in-game, find C4Music in the Available packs list, and click the arrow to move it to Active packs. Make sure it's positioned above any conflicting music packs. Restart your world or reload chunks to hear the new tracks.
Why am I still hearing music from after the Nether Update?
C4Music removes post-Nether Update tracks, but if you have other resource packs active above it, they may be overriding the changes. Check your resource pack order and ensure C4Music is loaded before any packs that add newer music.
Can I use C4Music with other resource packs at the same time?
Yes, C4Music works alongside other packs, but placement in your resource pack list matters. Put C4Music above texture or shader packs that don't modify music, or below packs you want to override it. Test the load order if you hear unexpected tracks.
What's the difference between C4Music and just using the original Minecraft soundtrack?
C4Music includes unused C418 tracks from Volumes Alpha & Beta that never made it into the base game, giving you fresh-yet-familiar music alongside the classics. It also strips out all post-Nether Update compositions for a purely nostalgic experience.
Does C4Music affect performance or cause lag?
No, C4Music is lightweight and only replaces audio files—it has no impact on FPS or server performance. The pack size is minimal since it's music-only without texture changes.
Will C4Music work on multiplayer servers?
Yes, resource packs are client-side only, so you can use C4Music on any server without needing admin approval or affecting other players. Everyone hears their own music based on their installed packs.
How do I know which tracks in C4Music are unused versus the ones I already know?
Check the guide on which tracks are included to see the full list and their origins from Volumes Alpha & Beta. The unused tracks will sound fresh but maintain the same atmospheric style as classic Minecraft music.
Can I remove C4Music and go back to normal Minecraft music?
Yes, simply deactivate C4Music in your Resource Packs menu or delete it from your resourcepacks folder. Your default Minecraft music will return immediately.
Does C4Music include music for all biomes and situations?
C4Music focuses on the classic soundtrack from Volumes Alpha & Beta, so it covers the original biome and menu music but excludes newer biome tracks added after the Nether Update. Some modern situations may have silence or fallback to default audio.
What do I do if C4Music isn't showing up in my Resource Packs list?
Make sure the pack folder is in your resourcepacks directory and named correctly. If it's still missing, try restarting the launcher and checking that the pack file isn't corrupted.
