But the Floor Changes Every Day Data Pack FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
Do I have to start a new world to use this data pack?
Yes, this data pack only works during brand new world creation. You cannot add it to an existing world and have the floor-changing mechanic activate.
What time does the floor change each day?
The floor changes at the start of each new in-game day, which occurs when morning arrives (when the sun rises). You can force an immediate change using the /trigger ac.sf_randomizer.add_day command.
Can I choose which blocks appear as the floor?
You can manually set the floor to any block you're holding with /trigger ac.sf_randomizer.change_to_block, and you can toggle whether TNT appears in the random rotation using /trigger ac.sf_randomizer.enable_tnt. Otherwise, the mod randomly selects from its default pool each day.
Will villages, structures, and mobs still spawn normally?
Yes, all essential mobs and game structures like villages, strongholds, and dungeons still generate across the flat terrain so you can complete survival and defeat the Ender Dragon normally.
What is disco mode and how do I turn it on?
Disco mode makes every chunk select its own unique floor block instead of the entire world sharing one block type. Toggle it with /trigger ac.sf_randomizer.disco_chunks.
Can I play this data pack in the Nether and End?
Yes, the floor-changing mechanic applies to all three dimensions—the Overworld, Nether, and End—so each dimension gets a new flat floor block every morning.
What should I do on my first day?
Gather essential resources as quickly as possible before the ground changes, since you won't know what block type will appear the next morning. Focus on collecting wood, stone, and other basics you'll need regardless of the new floor.
Can I uninstall this data pack from my world?
Yes, run /function ac_cheat:uninstall to cleanly remove the data pack from your world.
Will this data pack work with other mods or data packs?
This is a data pack, not a mod, so it should work alongside most other data packs and mods, but conflicts are possible if other content heavily modifies terrain generation or block mechanics. Test it in your specific setup if you're combining it with other modifications.
What happens if I stand on a dangerous block like TNT when it becomes the floor?
If TNT is enabled and becomes the floor, it will behave as a solid block you can stand on, but you should be cautious since TNT can still be triggered by other means. The floor itself won't spontaneously explode just from existing.
