BuildPaste Plugin FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I get started with BuildPaste?
Type '/selector' to obtain the Position Selector Item, then use it to mark two corners of the area you want to copy. Once you've selected your region with '/pos1' and '/pos2', you can copy it and paste it elsewhere in your world.
What's the difference between using commands and the Position Selector Item?
Both '/pos1' and '/pos2' commands and the Position Selector Item do the same thing—they mark the corners of your selection. The Position Selector Item is just a more visual way to do it if you prefer not to type commands.
Can I paste a building multiple times?
Yes, once you've copied a building, you can paste it as many times as you want in different locations without needing to copy it again.
How do I upload my building to the database?
Select your building using '/pos1' and '/pos2' (or the Position Selector Item), then type '/upload' to submit it to the BuildPaste database where other players can download it.
What happens if my selection includes entities or just blocks?
BuildPaste copies the blocks in your selection; check the mod's documentation or test with a small area first to confirm whether entities and tile entities are included in your version.
Can I paste buildings on a server?
Yes, BuildPaste is a plugin designed for servers, so you can paste buildings on multiplayer worlds as long as the server has the plugin installed and you have the necessary permissions.
Do I need to be in Creative mode to copy and paste?
Check your server's permissions settings—some servers require Creative mode or specific permissions to use copy/paste commands, while others allow it in Survival mode.
Can I download buildings from the database and paste them?
Yes, you can browse and download buildings that other players have uploaded to the BuildPaste database, then paste them into your world using the paste command.
What should I do if a paste doesn't work or looks wrong?
Make sure your selection was correct by checking your '/pos1' and '/pos2' markers, verify you have enough space in your world, and ensure the area isn't protected or restricted by plugins.
Does BuildPaste work with other plugins?
BuildPaste is generally compatible with other plugins, but conflicts can occur with region protection or permission plugins—test on a backup world first if you're unsure.
