How to turn off a BugTorched tweak that changes vanilla behavior
BugTorched bundles many small fixes, backports and tweaks (recipes, placement rules and so on). Each is meant to be switched individually, so you can disable the one you dislike without losing the rest.
Find the setting
1. Close the game completely. Forge only reads config files at startup.
2. Open your instance's config folder and look for the BugTorched config file(s). Launching once with the mod installed generates them.
3. Open the file in a plain text editor (not a word processor).
4. Search for a keyword related to the behavior you noticed, such as the block, item, recipe or mob. Options are grouped by category and usually have a short comment explaining what they do.
Change it safely
1. Change only one option at a time. For on/off options, flip true to false or the reverse.
2. Save the file, start the game and test the exact situation that bothered you.
3. If nothing changed, check whether another mod or the modpack's own config also controls that behavior.
4. Keep a backup copy of the original file before editing. If you break something, you can restore it and regenerate defaults.
Tips
- If a setting needs a world reload or full restart, the config comment usually says so.
- On a server, edit the server's config, and make sure clients use matching settings. Mismatched placement or recipe tweaks can cause confusing behavior.
