How to find out if BugTorched is causing or fixing a crash
BugTorched aims to prevent crashes from vanilla, Forge and other mods. Occasionally, though, a patch can interact badly with another mod. Here is how to work out which is happening.
Read the crash report first
1. Open the newest file in the crash-reports folder, or the latest log in logs.
2. Read the stack trace near the top. Look for BugTorched class names, or for a mixin/patch/transformer mentioned alongside another mod's classes.
3. If the trace points mainly at one other mod and BugTorched only appears as a transformer in the chain, a patch may be changing that mod's code.
Isolate the cause
1. Back up your config folder.
2. Open the BugTorched config and disable the option relating to the mod or system named in the trace. Change just one option per test.
3. Repeat the action that crashed. If it no longer crashes, you've found the culprit. Leave that option off.
4. If the crash persists, restore the option. The cause is likely elsewhere.
Reporting
If a patch does cause a crash, note the option name, the other mods involved and the full crash report. Those details are what the maintainers need to fix it.
