How to Install and Enable BSL Shaders in Minecraft
Getting the Shader Files Ready
BSL Shaders ships as a .zip archive, and you should not unzip it. Keep the downloaded archive intact so your shader loader can read it directly. If you extracted it earlier, re-zip the folder so the top level contains the shader files (like shaders folder and shaders.properties).
Loading BSL Through Iris or OptiFine
1. Launch Minecraft with your shader-compatible loader already installed.
2. Open Options → Video Settings → Shaders (Iris) or Options → Video Settings → Shaders (OptiFine).
3. Click Shaders Folder to open the directory where shader packs live.
4. Drop the BSL .zip into that folder.
5. Back in-game, select BSL from the list and click Apply.
6. The screen may freeze briefly — this is normal.
Confirming It Works
Once applied, you should immediately notice softer shadows, brighter skies, and reflective water. If nothing changes, check that the pack is actually selected (highlighted) and not just listed. If the game crashes on apply, your GPU may not support the shader's requirements — try lowering render distance or disabling features like volumetric light before reapplying.
