Breedable Killer Rabbit Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I breed a killer bunny?
Bring two regular rabbits close together and feed each one a carrot. If both produce heart particles, a baby is on the way, and that baby has a configurable chance to be a Killer Bunny.
Why aren't my rabbits breeding?
Both rabbits must be adults, close to each other, and each needs its own carrot. If you only feed one rabbit, or they're too far apart, no hearts will appear and no baby will spawn.
Can I breed two killer bunnies together?
No. The mod is built around breeding two regular rabbits to produce a chance of a Killer Bunny baby. Killer Bunnies themselves aren't the intended breeding pair.
How do I change the chance of getting a killer bunny?
Open the config file and adjust the Killer Bunny spawn chance value, then save and reload. If you use Mod Menu, you can edit the same setting from the in-game config screen instead of the file.
Where is the config file for this mod?
It lives in your Minecraft instance's config folder, typically as a file named after the mod. If you'd rather not hunt for it, install Mod Menu and open the mod's settings from there.
Does the config change apply to rabbits already pregnant?
The chance is rolled when the baby is actually generated, so change the config before the baby spawns if you want the new value to apply. Existing babies already born won't be affected.
How do I tell a killer bunny apart from a normal rabbit?
Killer Bunnies have a distinct hostile appearance compared to the peaceful white or brown normal rabbits, and they will attack the player rather than flee. If a rabbit charges you instead of hopping away, it's a Killer Bunny.
How do I build a safe breeding farm for killer bunnies?
Use solid walls and a roof so the baby can't escape or attack you from behind, and keep the breeding pair separated from the newborn area. Since Killer Bunnies are hostile, avoid standing inside the pen when the baby spawns.
Can I get a killer bunny without breeding?
Yes, Killer Bunnies still spawn naturally in the world at their rare rate, but this mod adds breeding as an alternative way to obtain them. Breeding is generally more reliable than waiting for a natural spawn.
Does this mod work with other rabbit or mob mods?
It should work alongside mods that add new rabbit variants or change rabbit behavior, but overlapping changes to rabbit breeding may conflict. If breeding stops working after adding another mod, check load order and configs for both.
