Get a stack of tropical fish for axolotl breeding without buckets

The mod's main benefit is that you no longer need a bucket of tropical fish for each feeding. Here is how to collect enough fish to breed in bulk.

Fishing

1. Take a fishing rod to an ocean, ideally a warm one, where tropical fish are common.

3. Collect every tropical fish item you catch. They stack, so you can keep them all in one slot.

A rod can also catch other items such as cod, salmon, pufferfish and junk. Only the tropical fish are useful here.

Killing fish

Tropical fish you find swimming in warm oceans or lush caves can be killed for a tropical fish drop. This works but is slower than fishing, and you have to chase them.

How many do you need?

You need one fish per parent each time you breed, so two per pair. Catch a few extra in case you want to breed again after the cooldown or try for another baby.
