How to back up your world before playing with Break Me Mod

A death crash can interrupt the game mid-session, so a manual backup is the best protection for a world you care about. Making one only takes a minute.

Make a backup copy

1. Fully close Minecraft, or use *Save and Quit to Title* and exit the game.

2. Open your Minecraft game folder and go into the saves folder.

3. Find the folder named after your world.

4. Copy it and paste the copy somewhere safe, such as another drive or a dated backup folder. Rename the copy so you know when you made it, for example with the date at the end.

Restore a backup

1. Close the game.

2. Delete the damaged world folder from saves, or move it elsewhere.

3. Copy your backup into saves and rename it if you like.

4. Launch the game and load it from the world list.

Tips

  • Back up before expeditions, boss fights and any experiment you might regret.
  • Keep more than one backup. If you only overwrite a single copy, you could replace a good one with a bad one.
  • Back up a copy of the world rather than playing on the only copy when you want to try something deliberately dangerous.
